Obituary for Alex "Big Al" Hodgins

Alex "Big Al" Hodgins
We regret to announce the death of Alex Hodgins on May 15, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Big Al as he was affectionately known, was an avid golfer and curler, who also enjoyed reading and playing Scrabble. He was a well-known teacher, having taught at Diamond Jubilee Public School for 35 years where he met the love of his life, Anita. Alex was a devoted husband and father, always putting others first, helping wherever he could, and was past member of several committees. His greatest joy was his 75th birthday present to himself: a Camero convertible.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Anita; his daughter, Shari wife of Stacey Miller of Keswick; one sister: Gwen Hodgins of Vaudreuil, QC; and one sister-in-law, Joan Hodgins of Aylmer, QC. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Emma Hodgins; and one brother, Bob Hodgins.

Alex Hodgins will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20th beginning at 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. James Ko officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated. ©
